"News" Website Possibly Operated By Local Republican Party

A story dated October 10 posted on allvirginia.news described a recommended termination involving volunteer firefighter Suhas Subramanyam, a candidate for Virginia's 10th Congressional District. However, this information has not been substantiated by the Ashburn Volunteer Fire Department, where Subramanyam served as a volunteer. Since he was not a paid employee, the notion of termination would seem to not apply. Furthermore, Subramanyam continued to volunteer with the department well after the date referenced in the memo.

Investigations reveal that the allvirginia.news website's name servers link back to the Loudoun County Republican Committee, which could indicate that it is funded and operated by the local party. However, there is no disclosure statement on the site indicating its partisan affiliation, which could violate Section 14.1 of Virginia's election regulations. This section mandates that political advertisements include clear disclosure when advocating for or against candidates.

Moreover, Section 14.2 stipulates that if entities are being paid to publish political advocacy must comply with regulations regarding paid advertisements, including the necessity of a "PAID ADVERTISEMENT" notice. The absence of such disclosures on allvirginia.news has raised questions about the website's intentions and legality.

This has been observed at the 78th India Independence Day Celebration on August 17 at Dulles Town Center, multiple back-to-school nights in Loudoun County, and at a youth recreational soccer game at Algonkian Elementary in Sterling.
