October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Loudoun Breast Health Network and Inova Loudoun Hospital to Host Annual Free Community Event: Breast Cancer Survivors' Retreat

LEESBURG, VA – To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Loudoun County, the Loudoun Breast Health Network and Inova Loudoun Hospital are hosting the Breast Cancer Survivors’ Retreat on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9:15 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the community room at the Village at Leesburg, 1601 Village Market Blvd., SE, Suite 100 in Leesburg (Wegman’s shopping center). The Retreat will start with an educational session, The Latest Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment, from 9:30 a.m. – noon. Speakers this year will include Inova Loudoun Hospital physicians Dr. Shannon Lehr, breast surgeon; Dr. Amy Irwin, medical oncologist; and Dr. Susan Boylan, radiation oncologist.

The Survivors Retreat Open House, noon – 3 p.m., will showcase information and community resources; free wigs, bras, scarves and hats; free soft pocket prostheses; makeup kits and makeovers; bra fittings; drumming demonstrations; free seated massages, healing touch/yoga/exercise demonstrations; door prizes and giveaways; refreshments and appetizers and much more.
