Police Searching for Hit and Run Driver

Weekend incident involved a 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe that should have heavy front end damage, according to Leesburg Police.

Investigators are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit and run on Saturday night, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Using damaged parts recovered at the scene, the vehicle appears to be a white 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle should have significant front end damage, according to a release.

Police responded to the scene at 8:14 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Edwards Ferry Road and Heritage Way NE.

The victim, 37, was driving a 2005 BMW traveling through the intersection heading east on Edwards Ferry Road. The Tahoe reportedly ignored a red light and struck the passenger side of the BMW.

The victim was transported to INOVA Hospital Cornwall with non-life threatening injuries.
