Police: Missing Man Found Dead

Firearm located with body of 59-year-old man, according to Leesburg Police Department.

Police have ended their search for a missing Leesburg man after finding his body Monday in a remote area of Balls Bluff Park.

Evidence indicates the 59-year-old Leesburg resident died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Leesburg Police Department. A firearm was found with the body.

Earlier Monday, police had requested the public’s assistance in located the missing man, who had not been seen since noon on Sunday.

According to police, he had multiple physical and mental impairments that required medication.

Detectives with the Leesburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section were on the scene Monday afternoon.
