Postal Express Store Finds Its Niche in Leesburg
Cause for celebration: a place to mail a letter on Saturday afternoon.
Rainy and drab it may have been on Saturday morning, but the ribbon cutting for a new Postal Express Store livened things up at the Exeter Center, in Leesburg.
Owner Rick Kramer said he didn't want to operate a franchise because "It's almost like you're still not working for yourself," so his mailing services store is proudly independent. That allows him to fit services and inventory to his customers' wants and needs, and "I can lower prices when I want to," he said.
In addition to mailing packages and renting mailboxes, the store accepts parcels for Federal Express. You can drop off spent printer cartridges and old cell phones for recycling, too.

Kramer will also cut duplicate keys with interesting themes. He's a huge fan of the Redskins, so look for designer key fobs with a burgundy and gold theme to come soon. The store is streamlined for efficiency but still offers unexpected inventory to surprise you.
There is also a postal drop box outside of the business, which is great news for procrastinators and those with crowded Saturday morning schedules. Leesburg has post offices on Catoctin Circle and East Market Street, both with limited parking, and Leesburg Vice Mayor Kevin Wright, who cut the ribbon to open The Postal Express Store, observed that it can sometimes be "a very special experience just getting there." The box outside Postal Express has pickups six days a week, including Saturdays, at 3:45 pm.
