Purcellville Cancels Christmas Parade, Tree Lighting Still On
The town of Purcellville canceled its reverse Christmas parade, scheduled for Saturday, due to low participation over coronavirus concerns.
PURCELLVILLE, VA — The town of Purcellville canceled its reverse Christmas parade, scheduled for Saturday, due to low participation over coronavirus concerns and Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's recent order limiting both indoor and outdoor gatherings to 25 people, the town said Tuesday.
The town's tree lighting, however, has not been canceled. The tree lighting will be a Facebook live event on the Town of Purcellville’s Facebook page on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
"We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we all continue to navigate through these challenging times and work to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19," the town said in a statement.
