Rummage Sale Trailers Open Twice in September

The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital needs your donations for the annual Rummage Sale. Donations will be collected on Saturday, September 12 and Saturday, September 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, VA, and at Inova Loudoun Medical Campus – Leesburg, 224 Cornwall Street. Red balloons will direct traffic to the specially designated trailers.

“Volunteers often meet donors by advance appointment since this is usually the most convenient way to donate, however we have very strong turn out during these Donation Day events,” said Lisa Cromwell, chairman of the Sale. “For those large furniture items, we offer professional pick up service. The schedule fills quickly, so call with as much notice as possible.”

The Ladies Board Rummage Sale is known as the largest sale in the mid-Atlantic region and was recently named the Best Annual Charity Event in Northern Virginia by Virginia Living magazine. It is the ultimate in bargain hunting and attracts a loyal, growing fan base each year. The Ladies Board always accepts donations by appointment most days, and needs furniture, clothing, books, household items, linens, lamps, jewelry, sports equipment. Organizers request that items be packed in boxes with lids/flaps shut and use plastic kitchen bags for clothing or linens.

All donations received will be offered for sale at the 77th Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at Morven Park – Tutt Lane entrance, 41793 Tutt Lane (off Route 15) in Leesburg, VA.

Particularly valuable items are needed for the Silent Auction held Saturday, October 17. Signed artwork, crystal, jewelry, expensive tools and gift certificates are always sought after at the Silent Auction which ends at 1 pm on Saturday.

Sale proceeds support Ladies Board projects in the community. The Ladies Board annually awards more than $100,000 in nursing scholarships. In addition, the Ladies Board raises several hundred thousand dollars each year for special needs equipment at Inova Loudoun Hospital and pledged a $1 million for the Cornwall Cares revitalization project.
