SAR Honors Unknown Soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery

National Society Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) President General Darryl Addington was joined by William "Bill" Greaf, President of the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution and several men from Virginia Chapters at the Tomb of the Unknowns on Saturday, September 21. President General Addington presented the National SAR wreath in honor of the men who died in the Nations wars but remain unknown but to God. The activity of presenting a wreath to honor veterans meets a SAR Goal of serving and honoring veterans of all wars fought by the United States. SAR is a lineage society for men who can prove ancestry to a Patriot of the American Revolution, the Nation's first Veterans.

The Color Guard accompanying President General Addington were: SAR Historian General Jeff Thomas from the Fairfax Resolves Chapter VA SAR, National SAR Color Guard Commander Scott Collins, Virginia SAR Color Guard Commander from the Col James Wood II Chapter Brett Osborn, George Washington Chapter VA SAR Color Guard Commander Paul McComb, Northern Region VA SAR Color Guard Commander from the Col William Grayson Chapter Mike Wilson. Sponsor for the event was the George Washington Chapter VA SAR with President Scott Walker participating.

Representing the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter from Loudoun County was Past President Ken Bonner. Mr. Bonner is also the 3rd Vice President of the Virginia Society SAR.
