Come and Be Blessed!!!

Revival is the sovereign work of God where He visits His own people, restoring and releasing them into the fullness of His blessing. The Fall Revival is for spiritual refreshment; to encourage people to fall in love with Christ again and to move people to deeper depths of discipleship and motivate people to aim for the highest quality of living in Jesus Christ. Revival allows the Church to “catch the wind [spirit] of heaven” as it blows wherever it wishes. Second Mount Olive Baptist Church will set their sails to catch the wind of God!

Second Mount Olive Baptist Church Brownsville History

In the year of eighteen ninety-two, the organizers responsible for establishing Second Mount Olive Baptist Church were, the Elder Spot Brown, Elder John Williams (the Grandfather of our late pastor, Elder Isham Williams), Elder Jake Thomas (a first cousin to Elder Williams), Deacon James Redmond (the Father of the late Deacon Isaac Redmond), and Mother Jesse Johnson, who became a minister of the gospel and Deacon John Richardson.

Second Mount Olive Baptist Church is a branch from the First Mount Olive Baptist Church (FMOBC) in Leesburg, Virginia (established 1884). The FMOBC pastor at that time was Elder Percy Jones.

After the passing of Elder Spot Brown, who served the Church for twenty-four years, the church called Elder A.A. Robinson. Elder Robinson fed the word of God and the membership begin to increase. Elder Robinson eventually received a call to a church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Elder Lewis Brown succeeded Elder Robinson as pastor and served faithfully until his death.

Elder Harry B (H.B.) Williams became the next pastor. Elder H.B. Williams served faithfully until nineteen forty (1940) and in May of that year, the Church called Elder Isham Williams as their pastor, with a membership at that time of fourteen.

Elder Isham Williams served fifty years as pastor until his death in May 1990.

After the passing of Elder Isham Williams, one of his sons in the Gospel, Elder Sulva Warner became the Pastor of Second Mount Olive Baptist Church in August 1990.

Upon the retirement of Elder Sulva Warner in June 2006, Pastor George M. Mink became the Pastor in 2007.
