Silk Flower Business Opens in Leesburg
Owner and Premier Designer Linda DiFrancesca said she's excited to be in Leesburg while offering a product that's in high demand.
Around 160 vendors were on display during the 22nd Annual Flower and Garden Festival over the weekend. Among them was Premier Designer Linda DiFrancesca who has worked at Jerry's Flowers & Gifts for about ten years.
During the two-day event, DiFrancesca was busy promoting her new silk flower business, DiFrancesca Designs, which recently opened at 109 S. King Street, on Friday, April 6.
“It’s been a little slow but once residents and even tourists find out what you have they become very very loyal,” DiFrancesca said. “It’s just waiting for that time for everybody to know that we’re there and what we can service them with.”

With over 30 years of experience in both silk and fresh floral design, DiFrancesca’s became motivated her to start her own venture.
She has experience in creating floral designs for a number of different purposes, including home and business décor, and weddings among other things. She will even help take care of grave sites, she said.

“I can do whatever I want with silk flowers,” DiFrancesca said, adding that she only works with the top brand of flowers. This includes natural touch flowers, she said, which actually feels like a regular flower.
“It performs that way also. You can put them in water, you can put them in dirt, you can put them outside and they’re fade resistant,” DiFrancesca said. “If you want something that you can have for a very, very long time we can make that possible.”
DiFrancesca Designs is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday’s are by appointment only. Each arrangement is one of a kind and affordable for everyone, she said.
“We’ve had just absolutely wonderful support from the residents of Leesburg and surrounding towns. They’re just absolutely wonderful supporters and customers and a lot of them have become very dear friends,” DiFrancesca said. "It’s really nice to have that feeling. We’re really looking forward to growing the business.”
