The Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition Features 80 Teams With a Record Number of 225 Students
Community Impact Event Presented by Loudoun Youth, PRCS and Youth-Quest

The Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition encourages middle and high school youth across the county to identify an issue in their school, neighborhood or community, create a plan to address that issue, and implement the plan. The goal is to encourage, support and reward the youth of Loudoun County for making positive changes in their own lives and the lives of others. This year there are 80 teams entered, comprised of 225 students - a record number of students involved in the competition’s seven years. Teams have developed their programs and will be competing on March 28, 2017. The top 10 winners will be invited back on April 5, 2017 to compete for cash prizes valued at almost $3,000. An awards ceremony will follow.
"Every year we are amazed at the caliber of students and entries in the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition. These students are not only recognizing issues, but they are developing programs and having an impact on their community. They are becoming leaders right before our eyes, and they will be able to learn from prominent business and community leaders at both the competition on March 28 and the Finals and Awards Ceremony on April 5,” said Steve Wolfson, Executive Director of Loudoun Youth. “This event touches countless lives, between the team members themselves and the individuals who are impacted by these programs. We are thrilled to have the largest number of students participating this year than we’ve ever had before.”
Loudoun Youth, Inc. was named the 2016 Nonprofit of the Year at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards.
