Loudoun County teacher to be arraigned Wednesday
Faces one count of destruction of property
A Loudoun County teacher is scheduled to be arraigned in Loudoun County District Court on Tuesday for one misdemeanor count of destruction of property at Stone Bridge High School.

On Aug. 12, Weiskopf took a can of paint from her car and painted over a student's parking space which offended her at Stone Bridge High School. Weiskopf has publicly admitted to painting over the student's parking space and has defended her actions. She has stated the picture depicted in the parking space constituted hate speech and was antisemitic.

The map depicted the Gaza Strip and the cities of Jenin, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem with a Palestinian flag in the top left corner of the parking space. Weiskopf said the map was antisemitic because it showed all the cities as being part of one country. She contended it depicted “an erasure of Jews” and was a visual representation of a slogan, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” that she found hateful.
Stone Bridge High School Principal Timothy Flynn sent an email to parents more than a month and a half after the incident on Sept. 30 informing them. He said he did not notify parents sooner because the incident occurred during summer break. Yet, school started Aug. 22. It's unclear why Flynn took until Sept. 30 to notify parents.

It's also unclear if Loudoun County Public Schools took disciplinary action against Weiskopf prior to her court date and, if convicted, what may happen to her teaching position afterward. Daniel Adams, a public information officer for the school system, said LCPS does not comment on personnel-related matters.
