Stonebridge High School Senior Luke Makowski achieves Eagle Scout

Scouting America Troop 1907 in Ashburn held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Luke Makowski (Class of 2025, Stonebridge High School). The event was held at Galilee United Methodist Church in Sterling, Virginia, Sunday, January 12, 2025. The church was the recipient organization of Luke’s Eagle Scout Project. Family, friends and congregants attended the event to honor Luke.

Achievement of Eagle Scout is a major accomplishment that requires dedication, the support of a loving family, and strong leadership of scout masters in the troop. Roughly two percent of all scouts ever achieve Eagle Scout.

The Sgt Maj John Champe (SMJC) Chapter, Virginia SAR serves Loudoun County and is proud to recognize young men like Luke. Recognition means award of a Certificate of Accomplishment and presentation of a SAR-Scout patch recognizing a common purpose of Patriotism, honor to God, service to others, and building a strong community and family. In the presentation package were instructions on how to apply for the SAR Eagle Scout Scholarship. The Scholarship gives each new Eagle the opportunity to compete for a National SAR $10,000 scholarship to the first-place winner, $7,000 for second place and $5,000 for third Place.
