Sweet Treats to Raise Funds for YMCA
An estimated 800 guests are expected to attend the 25th Annual Chocolates Galore & More!, which will take place this Friday night, in Leesburg.
Valentine’s Day may be over but the smell of chocolate and other sweet treats are still in the air. That’s because the YMCA of Loudoun County has been busy preparing for the 25th Annual Chocolates Galore & More! event, scheduled to take place this Friday.
Administrative Assistant Sarah Miley said the event is more like a competition. There will be 22 presenters that will represent some of the finest restaurants and bakeries from around the area. They will compete in sweet and savory categories, Miley said, before being judged by not only a professional but everyone who attends.
“We are projecting about 800 attendees this year,” Miley said, adding that the event has grown every year. Reserved seating tickets were sold out last week but general admission tickets will be available to purchase at the door.

Miley said each guest will be invited to taste whatever their heart desires while sipping free flowing champagne throughout the night. Live music will be performed by the Katz Band and a silent auction will also be available, featuring over 150 items.
“I think it’s a fantastic feel good event where you can have a lot of fun,” Miley said. “You can taste some fabulous food while supporting a really worth-while cause.”
