Man Charged with DUI, Hit and Run, and Violation

Loudoun County deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic dispute in the Watson and Red Hill Road area on Friday, March 23 around 4:30 p.m. The suspect, Mario S. Gualtieri, 51, of Aldie, had gone to a Leesburg residence in violation of a protection order.

Gualtieri had left the scene prior to police arrival before he was involved in a hit and run crash in the area of the Route 50 and Route 15 roundabout. He later crashed his vehicle again in the area of Watson and Red Hill roads.

Gualtieri attempted to flee on foot prior to being arrested and charged with DUI, two counts of hit and run, and violation of a protective order. He remains held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
