Town Council to Discuss Raspberry Falls

Members will meet for a work session Monday night where they will discuss the issue along with three other items.

Leesburg's Town Council will meet for a work session Monday night where they will receive an update on Raspberry Falls.

Since November 2011, Loudoun Water has continued its discussions with the town regarding the appropriate long-term solutions for the preferred water treatment for the neighborhood.

Water has been supplied to both areas by two community wells in a system operated by Loudoun Water. However, one of those wells was found to be under the influence of ground water back in November 2010.

Though it was stated that the water supply is safe for those in the local community, staff was directed to look at long-term options for both of the local communities, separately and combined.

Options have included a membrane filtration for the well and a connection to another waterworks such as the Town of Leesburg.

Council members have and what steps they'd like to take, but a decision has yet to be made.

Other items listed on Monday night's agenda include:

* Annual Street Resurfacing Program

* URAC – Rate Consultant RFP

* Annexation Briefing

The Town Council will meet on Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which can also be seen live on Leesburg's Government Access Channel, Comcast Channel 67 and Verizon Channel 35, or by webcast.
