Tunde Odunlade, Famous Artist, Poet and Musician Presents ICEHA Award to Leesburg Area School

Tunde Odunlade will travel to the US to present ICEHA’s annual Global Impact award to Seldens Landing Elementary School in Leesburg, Virginia. In addition to presenting the award, Mr. Odunlade will lead a hands-on art workshop for students, and share is musical and artistic talents.

Students, faculty and staff of Seldens Landing collected over 1200 pounds of new and gently used school supplies, books and curricula for children in Africa during the 2014-2015 school year. The majority of the items have already been distributed to displaced children in northern Nigeria, and the remainder of the items are in route to vulnerable children in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone.

During his visit, Mr. Odunlade will also welcome Seldens Landing to ICEHA’s Global Classroom Initiative (GCI). Through this partnership, students will have the unique opportunity to work with children and non-traditional instructors from other parts of the world. They will also develop unique skills which will positively impact their future success.
