Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sterling Announces Two Sunday Sservices (9:30 & 11:15am), beginning Sunday, Sept.

"This is an exciting time for our congregation." remarks Rev. Anya. "People . . . are responding to the inclusiveness of the UU message."

As part of its commitment to building a congregation where everyone is welcomed, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sterling (UUCS) will begin offering two Sunday services starting September 13th, 2015.

The congregation, led by Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael and Board President, Paul Roche, is taking the leap to open its doors even wider and offer services at 9:30 and 11:15am. Both services will support Religious Education and offer opportunities for deeper engagement in congregational life. A fellowship time will occur between services from 10:30 - 11:1 for the congregation to meet and greet.

UUCS has served our region for 20 years. Founded on the Unitarian Universalist principles that all people have inherent worth and dignity and deserve encouragement in their free search for truth and meaning, this congregation offers uniquely a welcoming worship, religious education, and fellowship experience. The words that greet newcomers on Sunday morning include this testimony: “Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever your identity, age, ability or history, know you are welcome to bring your full self here.” These words and the congregation’s commitment to honoring their meaning embolden visitors with diverse experiences and identities to make UUCS their home. To name some of the diversity that this encourages, UUCS is proud to affirm and celebrate their GLBTQ members, their members joined in interfaith marriages, their members with theistic as well as atheistic views, their members that support political leaders and issues across the partisan spectrum, and their members of all ages, stages, races, abilities, and heritages.
