"Virginia Grist" Photography Exhibit at Thomas Balch Library
The historic Thomas Balch Library is showing the recent works of Leesburg photographer J RIley Stewart through December 2014.

“Virginia Grist” is an intriguing look at five historically-preserved grist mills in northern Virginia. Stewart’s ‘portraits’ from within the walls of these old mills bring to life a past culture that was at the center of cultural development of 19th Century northern Virginia. While these structures and their machinery are relics of by-gone days, a closer look--a look only photography can enable--shows the inventiveness and craftsmanship that the creators of these factories accomplished with their hands, minds, and the tools at hand.
The exhibit is open during the library’s normal operating hours. Please check http://www.leesburgva.gov/index.aspx?page=306 .
