Virginia SAR Supports Church of our Savior for Veterans Day

Three Virginia Chapters of Sons of the American Revolution commemorated Veterans Day at Church of Our Savior in Leesburg

On 11 November, the Sgt Maj John Champe, Col James Wood II, and Col Wm Grayson Chapters Virginia SAR joined to commemorate and honor Veterans at the Church of our Savior south of Leesburg. Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter participants were: Jack Curtis-U.S. Army Veteran and Mark Sink,-U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Col. James Wood II Chapter Participants were: Paul Christensen and the Honorable Dean Worchester. Col. William Grayson Chapter participants were: Mike Wilson-U.S. Army veteran and John Huddleston-U.S. Army Veteran.

SAR members presented colors followed by four members executing a three-shot volley from replica Revolutionary era muskets and rifles (Firelocks). Participants in the Firelock volley were: Mark Sink, Mike Wilson, Paul Christensen and John Huddleston.

Veterans attending the ceremony included: Bill Stanbridge-U.S. Navy Veteran, Steve Hess-U.S.A.F Veteran, Oliver North-U.S.M.C Veteran, and Chris McCalla-U.S.A.F Veteran.
