The “Virginia Storm” Professional Basketball Team will be hosting a Press Conference with Ribbon Cutting

The Storm is ready to set up shop in Loudoun County this fall with a season of professional basketball starting this fall on November 5th, 2016. They will be hosting a press conference to discuss more details about the team on Friday, August 5 at 1pm at the George Mason Enterprise Center in Leesburg, VA, 202 Church Street SE, Leesburg, 20175.

The Virginia Storm professional basketball team has signed with the American Basketball Association, (ABA) as their 100th team for the 2016- 2017 season. This team, owned and managed by Norman and Mardesky Blowe will replace the Winchester Storm semi-pro team that they have also owned and managed for the past 6 years. This organization is more than just a basketball team and includes a professional dance team, the Stormettes and a youth educational program, the Junior Storm. The Stormettes will be holding try-outs at the Fitness Equation located in One Loudoun, 44693, Brimfield Drive, Ashburn VA 20147, on August 20 from 1-4pm. The Virginia Storm Basketball team brings a professional level of play in a family friendly, affordable format that will help raise money for charitable organizations throughout the county and work with existing youth programs to help them reach their goals. The organization will give young adult athletes the opportunity to continue their basketball careers by helping them develop a foundation for potential advancement. The Storm will have home games at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA for their first season of play this fall. A schedule for game times will be available soon.

Virginia Storm Basketball Organization prides itself on the importance of community. The organization includes a professional dance team, the Stormettes, and a non-profit charitable program called the Junior Storm. They interact with their fans at local appearances, supporting community events as well as basketball games. The Junior Storm is a youth program that mirrors the goals and aspirations of the Virginia Storm Basketball Organization.

As stated by Norman Blowe, Jr., co-owner of the Virginia Storm, “As an organization we are proud to offer exciting and affordable events for the entire family to enjoy! We are bringing a level of basketball that Loudoun County has not experienced before. We have something for everyone and we cannot wait to be apart of the community.”
