Virtual Job Fair Provides Second Chances For Ex-Offenders

Virginia Careerwork's Virtual Second Chance Job Fair will feature employers in several fields who are open to hiring former offenders.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A virtual job fair will allow ex-offenders in northern Virginia to find gainful employment. The Virtual Second Chance Job fair, organized by Virginia Career Works, will host employers like Amazon and FedEx on Tuesday, March 30.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday. There is no charge for the event, and participants can register anytime before the job fair begins.

The job fair is open to anyone, although all the employers involved are open to hiring ex-offenders, according to a post by the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center. Employers from across northern Virginia will interview candidates in areas like landscaping, construction, and transportation.

Chernisky noted that this week's job fair is one of the resources that Virginia Career Works offers those who have been incarcerated. "We also offer skills training and pre-employment case management, Federal Bond and Work Opportunity Tax Credit eligibility to further incentivize employers," Chernisky said.

More information about the event, including a list of employers and open positions, is available online. Anyone interested in attending the event can sign up before 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
