For the second year in a row, the Workhouse will feature the exhibition, Poetic Art from September 15 - October 10. It will feature both professional and amateur poets and artists working in collaboration to produce Poetic Art. The work of art will inspire the poet's words, or the poem will inspire the artist's creation. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Sunday, September 19 from 2-4pm, where there will be a reading of some of the submitted poems.
As part of the Poetic Art exhibition, all Fairfax and Prince William County High School 2009-2010 Juniors are invited to submit up to 3 original poems written in the last year. All submitted poems will be eligible for consideration for the Sgt. Scott Lange Kirkpatrick $1,000 Scholarship, sponsored by EnviroSolutions, Inc. All submitted poems will be displayed at the Workhouse during the Poetic Art exhibition from September 15 - October 10.
