2-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering Street at Midnight

A Manassas woman is facing a charge of felony child neglect after her 2-year-old son was found wandering on a local street at midnight Saturday.

Prince William County police arrested Michelle Elaine Gonzalez, 36, of 7640 Cass Place, according to a police report. Her next date in court is pending.

Police responded at 12:05 a.m. Sunday to a residence in the 7800 block of Apache Ridge Court to investigate a child neglect call, the police report said. The caller told Prince William police that a young child, later identified as a 2-year-old boy, was found walking by himself in a roadway in the area.

Officers arrived and began knocking on doors in an attempt to locate the child’s guardian. They tracked down and contacted Gonzalez, who was asleep at the time at her residence. The child was not injured, police said.
