Abby’s Lane Opens in Old Town Manassas

A unique new store called Abby’s Lane has opened up on West Street. Featuring all kinds of baby items like shoes, carriers, training pants, and detergent they specialize in cloth diapers.

The store started in September of 2004 and has locations in Bethesda, McLean, Alexandria, D.C., Leesburg, Germantown, Sterling, Woodbridge, and now Manassas.

Stephanie Daniel, owner and founder of Abby’s Lane, was inspired to open up a shop specializing in cloth diapers when she began the journey with the birth of her first daughter, Abby. Her husband Phillip is an avid supporter of the business and together they have four children (with one on the way), who have all been cloth-diapered since birth.

The store’s approach is based on “offering products to make your parenting experience enjoyable and a little closer to nature.” They host a free toddler story time on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and offer Cloth 101 classes on week nights and weekends both free of charge.

They sell cloth diaper covers and sets, pocket diapers, cloth diaper accessories, swim diapers, diaper inserts/liners, training pants, wool diapering and more. A few name brands they carry are Ergo Baby, Many Moons, and Little Beetle.

The store is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Saturday they are also open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are located between Foster’s Grille and City Square Café, directly facing the train station and the former home of  'The Things I Love' store.

A grand opening celebration will take place Memorial Day Weekend, beginning on Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 a.m. lasting through Monday, May 30. Door prizes will be given as a part of the celebration.
