The concept emphasizes open space buffers for nearby homes, potential affordable units, and phased redevelopment through future rezonings, while existing tenants can remain under current leases through 2030.

City leaders stress the city didn’t cause the increase, urge conservation where safe, and direct residents needing help to Social Services for possible assistance.

The Hylton Performing Arts Center Names Carolyn Hays as New Executive Director (princewilliamliving.com) — A major cultural institution serving Manassas and Prince William is getting new leadership as Carolyn Hays becomes executive director of the Hylton Performing Arts Center on May 10. Her appointment follows longtime director Rick Davis’s transformative tenure and comes as the Manassas-area venue expands its education programs, community partnerships, and role as a regional arts hub.

A Second Chance (princewilliamliving.com) — If you’re an adult in Manassas without a high school diploma, Prince William Public Libraries’ free Adult Career Online High School could be a life-changing option. The program offers accredited diplomas, built-in career certificates, and strong coaching support, all online and self-paced. With tens of thousands of local adults lacking diplomas, demand is growing and new scholarships are planned for 2026.
