MANASSAS, VA – Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old in Manassas earlier in June.

They are accused in the shooting death of Luis Angel Chavez, 18, of Manassas, who was found collapsed in a backyard on Parrish Lane on June 15. Police determined that the shooting had occurred in the Bull Run Mobile Home Community in the area of Peppertree Lane and Pebble Lane.

Police have said the crime did not appear to be random.

A bench warrant appears to have been issued for Medrano in Fairfax County General District Court in May when he failed to appear for a hearing on a reckless driving charge from February.

Chavez’s neighbors have been mourning the young man, who grew up in their Manassas community, and sharing memories on Facebook.

Prince William County police ask anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact them at (703) 792-7000 or to submit a tip online here.
