Armed Robber Held Up 71-Year-Old Woman Near Manassas

The subject was scared off when a witness yelled at him, according to Prince William County Police.

Investigators are looking for help in identifying the subject in an attempted armed robbery near Manassas on Friday evening, according to Prince William County Police.

At 7 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 10500 block of Hugh Mullen Drive. The victim. a 71-year-old Manassas woman, told police that she was walking in the area when she encountered an unknown man.

He allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it toward the victim, according to police. A witness observed the incident and yelled toward the man, who then fled on foot.

No injuries were reported and no property was taken.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 30 and 40 years of age, 6’2”, 190lbs with a thin build, dark complexion and unshaven face. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with burgundy trim and gray pants.
