Boy Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Gainesville: Police
A 17-year-old boy was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver amid bizarre circumstances early Saturday in Gainesville: PWC Police.

GAINESVILLE, VA—A 17-year-old Maryland boy was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver amid bizarre circumstances early Saturday in the area of Sudley Road near Catharpin Road, according to Prince William County Police.
The boy's identity is being withheld "due to legal restrictions." Meanwhile, police are looking for the driver of a white, four-door car with possible damage to the front driver’s side headlight.
Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to the area for a reported crash involving a pedestrian. They found that the boy, a family member and a co-worker were completing driveway sealant work at a home. Immediately prior to the collision, the boy and his family member were sitting in a parked truck facing the wrong direction on Sudley Road with the headlights on.

There were no road signs or cones in place along the road warning of the obstruction. The car was headed west on Sudley Road, where the speed limit was 50 mph. When it became apparent that the car would hit the truck, the boy and the family member got out of the vehicle.
The family member got out of the road but the boy tried to cross the adjacent eastbound lane just when the car swerved around the truck. That's when the boy was hit. The car stopped briefly stopped before continuing to head west. The boy died at the scene.
