Here's how you can let the Prince William County School Board hear your suggestions.

The High School Naming Committee of the Prince William County School Board will hold two community meetings this month to receive name suggestions for the county’s “12th” High School, currently under construction in Manassas.

Currently referred to as “12th” High School for planning purposes, the new school is scheduled to open in September 2016. It is being constructed to accommodate residential development in the county. Attendance boundaries for the new school were approved Nov. 18.

- 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Benton Middle School in Manassas.
- 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, at Hylton High School in Woodbridge.
The committee will consider geographic or historical identifiers, as well as names of living or deceased person(s) who have made local, state or national service contributions. Citizens who make a suggestion are encouraged to provide background information to aid in the selection process. Please see School Board Policy 854 and Regulation 854-1 for details.
Suggestions may also be sent to planning@pwcs.edu, or to the Office of Facilities Services - School Naming Committee, P.O. Box 389, Manassas, VA 20108-0389, by April 28.
The Naming Committee is made up of School Board members Michael Otaigbe, Coles District; Lisa Bell, Neabsco District; Lillie Jessie, Occoquan District; Betty Covington, Potomac District; and Milt Johns, School Board Chairman. All five represent areas impacted by the attendance area of the new “12th” High School.
Recommendations of the School Naming Committee are scheduled to be presented to the full School Board for information on May 6, and for action on May 20.
