Car Full Of Booze, Drugs Ends Beach Road Trip For Manassas Teens
Three Manassas 18-year-olds were arrested for drugs and alcohol Saturday in North Carolina during a Beach Week road trip to Myrtle Beach.

MANASSAS, VA — Here's a memo for recent high school graduates headed to the so-called Beach Week of their choosing: If you're loading your car with more than just gasoline and luggage and decide to also load lots of liquor, lots of beer, lots of weed and lots of cocaine, don't. Bad idea, that. But if you decide to do so anyway, don't be stupid while making the trip. In other words, as three Manassas teens found out this past weekend in North Carolina, don't drive more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
On Saturday, according to the Bladen County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina State Police pulled over a vehicle for going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone on NC Highway 87. Marijuana odor caught the attention of police while approaching the vehicle, which was then searched. Beach Week? Nope. Instead, Michael Berrios, 18, Lorenzo Cota, 18, and Christhianna Ortez Florez, 18, were arrested and charged with myriad drug and alcohol charges that landed them in jail.

They told police they graduated from high school the previous night and were headed to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina to meet up with other graduates. Besides luggage, they were bringing around three ounces of marijuana, 2.6 grams of cocaine, 18 liters of liquor, 50 liters of beer and $3,600.
