Cat Knocked Gun Off Of Table, Causing Gunshot At Manassas Apartment: Man Tells Police
A man told police that his cat knocked a gun off a table, which caused a gunshot to fire into a neighboring apartment in Manassas.

MANASSAS, VA — A cat caused a gunshot to fire through a Manassas apartment on Monday night, a man told the Prince William County Police Department.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Authorities identified the man as 29-year-old Christopher Michael Moore. Moore is charged with one count of reckless handling of a firearm.

Moore's court date is pending, and he was released on a court summons.
If convicted, Moore could face up to a year in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, police officers were called to the Westgate Apartments in Manassas for a reported gunshot.
Moore told police officers that he was preparing to clean his firearm when his cat knocked the gun off of a table. He noted that the a shot rang out when the gun hit the floor, according to the police department.
The bullet fired through a wall in the apartment and damaged the wall and ceiling of a neighboring apartment. Officers charged Moore after their investigation on Monday night.
