Curbside Christmas Tree Pick Up Begins Monday

American Disposal will be picking up live Christmas trees curbside starting Monday, December 26.

All tinsel, lights, and decorations must be removed, according to a notice on the Manassas City's website.

The service will be offered every Monday until Jan. 30. After that, it is back to regular yard waste pick up times and requirements. If you decide to put your tree out after in February, you will have to tie and cut it into 4 foot lengths.

Sue Lhotka, trash and recycling coordinator for the City of Manassas, says the trees will be taken to a composting facility such as the one located on Balls Ford Road to be made into mulch and even compost.
