Off-Duty Cop Shoots Man In Manassas: Police
An off-duty Prince William County sheriff's deputy shot a man possibly involved in a large fight late Thursday in Manassas: PWC Police.

MANASSAS, VA—An off-duty Prince William County sheriff's deputy shot a man possibly involved in a large fight late Thursday night at the Fields of Manassas apartment complex in the 7400 block of Willoughby Lane, according to Prince William County Police. The man was taken to an area hospital and released. The off-duty officer's name wasn't released, and the Prince William County Sheriff's Office will conduct a separate administrative investigation.
Around 11:15 p.m., police arrived at the apartment complex for a report of shots fired and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. They also found that a large group had gathered in the area and were physically fighting. At one point, someone in the group fired into the air multiple times, prompting several complex residents to call police.
The off-duty officer, a resident of the complex, confronted multiple people running from the area. Armed with a handgun but not in uniform, he shot the man later found by police during the encounter.
