Election 2017: New Voting Methods Coming to Manassas
The city will be switching to optical scanner voting machines and also add Round Elementary School to its list of official voting places.

MANASSAS, VA — New optical voting machines, not to mention a new polling location, are on tap for the 2017 election cycle, according to city officials.
The new polling place is at George C. Round Elementary School, 10100 Hastings Drive.

"Voters will be marking a paper ballot by making a clear mark in the red box to the left of their choices. When they have finished and reviewed their ballot, voters then will insert the ballot into a scanner, called the OpenElect Voting Optical Scan.
"The scanner will read the selections and take a digital image of the ballot. After the polls close, poll workers will run a tally report on the scanner to obtain the precinct results."
