Happy New Year!

I wish everybody lots of blessings and a happy New Year!

Celebrating the New Year might be to have fun, enjoy with others, but it is also time to think of the goals you want to set up for the coming year. When I think about why it’s celebrated, I think the starting of a new year means a time to fix all our mistakes we did last year and think of a way to make ourselves better. Also, the starting of a new year cheers us up, so don’t look down to things you’ve lost, but try to redo it in a better way. Similarly, if your friend moved and you miss them, try to be kind this year, and make another good friend.

Let’s go back in time for a second and see what good things happened last year. Good things that happened at home were that I took care of my younger siblings, tried to keep the house clean (as I have 3 messy siblings), played well, and I ate healthy. At school, I made good grades, had many friends, and much more.

Zoom! Now what will I do next year? I’m going to keep my grades up (I’m going to be in fifth grade), make more friends than before, raise my voice as needed, learn more about technology, sleep early more often, and study for all my tests.

Now we are done with all that stuff, but there is still more! How do we Muslims celebrate the New Year? I’m a Muslim so I can tell you! In our Community, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we send out cards and sweet treats to friends and neighbors to wish them a happy New Year. And most importantly we pray for a good New Year for everyone and our country.

I wish everybody lots of blessings and a happy New Year!
