Hop Around Old Town Starts Today

Old Town's annual 'Hop Around Old Town' events kicks off today and many kids will be looking for that special egg.

According to Historic Manassas, Inc., participants who make a purchase at participating shops will get to select an egg from the merchant’s basket. All eggs  will contain a sweet Easter treat, but some have a prize for a special gift at a participating shop.

"You can get an egg in my shop that entitles you to a gift at one of the other shops," said owner of 'The Things I Love' Joanne Wunderly in an email this week. "Then just hop on over and get your prize. This is a really fun event. I hope you can join us. It's supposed to be a beautiful week."

Runner-up prizes include large stuffed bunnies. There is also a grand prize of a giant over-sized stuffed bunny, according to HMI's website.

Look for the bunny pennant in participating shop windows and have fun. The event starts Tuesday, April 3 and lasts through April 7 and takes place during regulary store hours.
