House Fire In Manassas Displaces 8 Residents: Authorities
Authorities are still investigating the cause of a Manassas house fire the displaced 8 people and caused extensive damage on Tuesday.

MANASSAS, VA — A home caught fire in Manassas on Tuesday morning, causing extensive damage and displacing eight residents, the fire department said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze. The American Red Cross is providing assistance for the displaced residents.
The Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating to determine what sparked the fire.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 10300 block of Lomond Drive around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived, the house was engulfed in flames, but the residents had already evacuated.
The residents told first responders that they woke up when they heard a popping sound. Then, the smoke detectors started beeping. They found the fire in an unoccupied bedroom, according to the fire department.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and the building official deemed the home unsafe to occupy.
"The Fire Marshal’s Office encourages all homes to be equipped with smoke detectors," the fire department said in a news release. "Detectors provide the best means to provide you and your family the ability to quickly detect and safely escape from a home fire. Check your batteries regularly to ensure proper operation."
