Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, is awaited by many people all around the world. Even some who are not Christians celebrate this day. Jesus (peace be on him) is recognized as a prophet of God in Islam. The Qur’an refers to him as Isa and is mentioned many times in it. The Holy Qur’an also has a chapter (19) titled Maryam (Mary).
Christians believe that Jesus is still alive in heaven, and are waiting for him to return to Earth. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, of which I am a member, believes that the Messiah of the latter days has already come in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India around 130 years ago. He was sent to revive and unite all the religions of the world.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!
