While Springfield Mall was effectively shut down for renovation the past few years, and nearby Landmark Mall was devolving and shedding stores, Manassas Mall — not many years ago an aging relic —became something of an oasis for Northern Virginia folks living near the I-95 South corridor.

It concretely responded in kind, re-branding itself as the "new" Manassas Mall, and attracting attractive new stores and attractive new restaurants.
