Larceny Suspect Hit By SUV While Fleeing Cops In Manassas: Police

MANASSAS, VA — A 19-year-old larceny suspect was hit by an SUV in Manassas on Thursday, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities said the man was running from police officers before the vehicle hit him.

A helicopter flew the man to an area hospital. The police department said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities have not identified the man by name. Investigators have not said whether he faces charges.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday on Sudley Road near Rixlew Road. Police officers said they were investigating a theft from a local business when they saw a man matching the suspect descrption in the 8400 block of Rixlew Road.

When officers tried to stop the man, he ran away, according to the police report.

He ran through the eastbound lanes and into the westbound lanes of Sudley Road. In the westbound lanes, a 2012 Infinity QX56 hit the man. The driver stayed at the scene.
