Letter to the Editor: Lockheed Martin on Potential Gov't Shutdown

Lockheed Martin is the second largest employer in Manassas.

Statement from Lockheed Martin as of 4/8/11:

We continue to closely monitor the ongoing budget and funding discussions as Congress works toward a full-year 2011 budget resolution.  As our Chairman and CEO stated in a February 7th letter to Congress, “without appropriate full-year funding decisions on national security programs, we will face costly schedule delays and breaks in production that will increase overall program costs and interrupt the delivery of critical equipment to warfighters.

In the event a full-year budget resolution is not passed, we are working closely with our government customers to understand the potential impact to our employees and programs during a government shutdown.  We have contingency plans in place and as details become available we will share them with our employees and subcontractors.
