Local Pilots To Fly Over Hospital To Thank Health Care Workers
Aircraft from the Manassas Regional Airport will fly over Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center on Wednesday.
MANASSAS, VA – Aircraft from the Manassas Regional Airport will fly over Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center on Wednesday as a thank you to hospital staff for all of their hard work during the coronavirus public health crisis.
The flyover will take place at 1 p.m.
Manassas resident Edie Clark reached out to the Manassas Regional Airport to suggest the thank-you flyover.

"I would like to thank Mrs. Clark for suggesting that we conduct a flyover and all of the participants who are giving their time and talent to make this happen," said Airport Director Juan Rivera in a prepared statement. "This is the least we can do for our medical care workers."
The flyover will last about 15 minutes and the planes will fly over Historic Downtown Manassas to the water tower and around the hospital.

Residents are encouraged not to gather at the hospital but instead to watch the flyover from their homes.
The flyover will also be streamed on the airport Facebook page.

"Whether caring for patients on the front line or supporting our facility operations during this challenging time, our team members are grateful for this show of support in recognition of their efforts to bring the best of health to our communities today and in the brighter days ahead."
