Man Accused Of Rape In Manassas: Police
The Prince William County Police Department arrested a Manassas resident after an acquaintance accused him of rape last month.

MANASSAS, VA — A man from Manassas was arrested and charged with rape, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The man, who police identified as Morris Woodrow Harris, was arrested on Thursday, July 15 after authorities completed their investigation.
The investigation was conducted by the Prince William County Police Department's Special Victims Unit. The victim told police that the rape occurred at Harris's home in the 8900 block of Brewer Creek Place in Manassas.
According to the police report, the rape occurred between 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 and 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 27. The victim was only identified as a 29-year-old woman who was Harris's acquaintance.

The police department said Harris and the victim were at Harris's home on Brewer Creek Place when the victim fell asleep. "When the victim fell asleep [she] was sexually assaulted by the accused," the Prince William County Police Department wrote in their incident report.
When the victim woke up the next morning, she immediately left the home and went to a nearby hospital. Eventually, she contacted authorities and the police department commenced their investigation.

After the Special Victims Unit concluded their investigation, Harris was charged with one count of rape. He is currently being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2021.
If found guilty, Harris could face a penalty of up to life in prison.
