Chemical Spill Near Manassas Sends Workers to Hospital: Report

Fifteen employees at a Northern Virginia recycling facility were hospitalized Friday morning after a chemical spill at the plant, according to reports.
Fire crews went to Republic Services Recycling in the 7900 block of Notes Drive near Manassas at 6:20 a.m. Friday after several workers reported difficulty breathing, InsideNoVA reported.
The workers were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials said the exact source of the spill is not known. They said the likely source was household chemicals in recycling that were being sorted by the workers at the facility.
No surrounding businesses were affected by the spill, according to the InsideNoVA report.
