Citygate GIS, a consulting company based in Annapolis, Maryland, is conducting the study to provide MCPS with information regarding projected student enrollment, possible grade and school boundary reconfigurations, and future capital improvement/facility needs. Representatives from Citygate will join school division staff at the community meeting to hear stakeholder comments for consideration and assist with the community dialogue.

This first community engagement session will include opportunities for participants to gain information about past and present enrollment and capital and maintenance projects. Facilitators will provide past and current conditions and will share how their work will be accomplished over the next few months. Participants will be able to offer comments regarding future MCPS needs in areas such as grade configuration, renovations or replacement of facilities and other instructional needs through 2030.

Citygate will work with MCPS to formulate an implementation plan based on findings resulting from community feedback, historical and current data, and on-site evaluations.

Community members and school division staff and families are encouraged to attend the April 21 meeting to participate in the discussion of planning for the future of Manassas City Public Schools.
