Manassas Man Arrested For Domestic Assault, Abduction: Police

A man from Manassas is in jail after he assaulted and trapped two different family members on Thursday morning, according to police.

MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man is in jail after he assaulted and kidnapped his family members, according to police. The man, Hercules Alfaro, was arrested on Thursday morning.

At 12:45 a.m. Thursday, police were called to a Manassas apartment to investigate a domestic disturbance. A 45-year-old woman told police an argument with a family member escalated physically.

During the argument, the woman said she was shoved to the ground by a family member, who policed identified as Alfaro. He then forced the woman into a bathroom and refused to let her leave, according to the police report.

After the first woman was locked in the bathroom, another family member attempted to intervene. The second family member, an 83-year-old woman, was also shoved into the bathroom. Alfaro did not allow her to leave the bathroom either, according to Prince William County Police.

Eventually, Alfaro left the apartment and the women were able to contact the police department. The 45-year-old woman reported minor injuries. The Prince William County Police Department did not note any injuries suffered by the 83-year-old woman.

Police determined there had been other incidents where the woman suffered minor injuries after being hit by Alfaro. He was located and arrested on Thursday morning.

Alfaro is charged with two counts of abduction and three counts of domestic assault and battery. He is being held without bond and his court date is pending.
