Manassas Man Dies Of Injuries 1 Month After Scooter Crash: Police
A 74-year-old Manassas man has died of injuries he sustained when his scooter struck a car in July.
MANASSAS, VA – A man who was struck by a car while riding a scooter in July has died of his injuries, Prince William County police announced.
John Wesley Marr, 74, of Manassas, was riding a 2024 Honda Metropolitan scooter at the intersection of Coverstone Drive and Aaron Lane in Manassas on the morning of July 21 when the driver of a 2022 Kia Forte entered the intersection directly in front of him, causing him to crash into the Kia, Prince William County police say.
Marr was taken to a hospital. He died on Monday of injuries sustained in the crash.

The Kia driver was identified as Jorge Valentin Diaz Ramirez. Ramirez was charged with failing to yield at a stop sign and was released on a court summons. His first hearing is scheduled for Sept. 14.
A man with the same name and birthday as Ramirez has three other driving violations listed in Virginia’s online court system, including speeding and violating work-zone speed limits.
