A 64-year-old woman identified herself to authorities as a family member of Gesirick's. She told police that Geserick struck her during an argument, according to the police report.

Then, when the victim tried to leave the room to call police, Geserick took her phone and prevented her from leaving, authorities claimed. Eventually, the woman was able to regain possession of her phone and flee to another room of the home where she was able to cal 9-1-1, police said.

While she was in the second room, the victim said Geserick threatened to burn down the home and shoot the victim, according to the police report. Officers said that Geserick refused to leave the home after they arrived on the scene.

"Eventually, the victim was assisted out of the home by police and transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries," the police department said.

Later in the afternoon, police said Geserick was taken into custody without further incident.

In total, Lake Jackson Drive was shut down for more than 6 hours, from 11 a.m. until authorities demobilized after 5 p.m.

Geserick is charged with abduction, threats to bomb, domestic assault and battery, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement. His court date is currently pending, and he is being held without bond.
