Marshall Has Eight Times More Cash Than Genthner

Del. Bob Marshall, a Republican serving the 13th District, has a commanding lead in campaign funds over his opponent Carl Genthner.

Del. Bob Marshall raised five times more money than his opponent Carl Genthner did during September, according to the most-recent campaign finance reports.

Marshall raised about $31,000 in cash and $1,750 in in-kind donations for his re-election campaign. He spent about $5,000 for the month, leaving him with $76,490 to spend before the Nov. 8 election.

Genthner, a Democrat, raised $6,865 in cash with $395 in in-kind donations, giving him $7,260 for the month. He spent $6,698, leaving him with $9,706 to spend before the election.

Most of Marshall's money is from public employees in the military, universities and the federal government. The bulk of Genthner's money is from other Democrats or Democratic groups.

Marshall has also dominated his opponent in campaign mailers, spending 57 percent of his money on campaign direct mailers. Genthner has spent just 5 percent on direct mailers.
